Inaugurated in 1928, the Park View Hotel was refurbished and reopened a few years ago under the management of Habaguanex Hotel Group - a company of the Office of the City Historian.

The revenues from the hotel operation are reinvested in the restoration of historical buildings and in social community projects in Old Havana.

The Hotel was one of the first hotels built with American capital and one of the nicest at the time.

It has an excellent location just off Prado Promenade, around the corner from the Museum of Fine Arts and a short walk away from the seawall, which magnificent views of the lighthouse and Morro fortress. The Capitol building and the Great Theatre of Havana are also a brief stroll away, and nearby Obispo Street leads you straight to the heart of Old Havana's historical centre.

The restaurant, the Prado, on the 7th floor, with a great view of the Havana bay, El Morro and La Cabana forts, invites you to try international cuisine in a cozy space decorated with pictures of ancient Havana.

Ongoing restoration work in the historic centre of Havana has been praised by UNESCO consultants, and could serve as a model for preserving heritage sites around the world.

Two highly qualified independent experts, architects Sylvio Mutal of the Netherlands and Fernando Carrion of Ecuador, described the work carried out by the Cuban state in that part of the city as "successful and commendable," in a report commissioned by UNESCO.
